Working to finish remodel on the house

My life has been a whirlwind of changes for so long I don't know what normal is anymore. The whole purpose of all the changes is to make the best of what we have. So many people have been hurt in the whole change of our economy since the late 2000's. Jeff and I have been doing the best we can to make the best of a bad situation. People don't like talking about unpleasant things but I believe that our purpose on this earth is to help others with the experiences that we have gone thru. The one thing that I believe is you don't give up, you keep working and fighting with all that you have available to you. Life doesn't always turn out the way you think it will or the way you want it to but the most important thing is to be grateful for what you have at any given moment.
My beliefs have changed drastically in the last few years and they keep changing with all the new things that come into our lives. The one thing that stays constant is my Faith, and my love in my husband. I lean on him an awful lot and have faith that all will work out exactly as it is suppose to in the end.
When we moved last January I had hoped we would stay here forever. I should have known that would not happen. We are now finishing the remodeling to put the house on the market. When we are done I will put up some pictures. We have found a property that we really want and are in the process of bidding on it. Crossed fingers and lots of prayers in the hope we get it.
Life is always full of surprises, some good, some not so good, and the trick is to accept whatever comes along to us and make the best of it. The time we spend thinking or wishing things were different is just a total waste of time. My goal is to learn how to live in the moment and enjoy each and every one of them. I certainly have not mastered that but like I said it is my Goal.
I spent the day painting the new bathroom in the basement, and the vanity upstairs in the bathroom and taking up tile off the kitchen floor. my back is not used to that heavy work of doing the tiles and I had to stop for now. More tomorrow. Bye for now. God Bless you!

CUSTOMER'S PROJECT

Hi - last month I bought a yellow/gold blanket from your store and I told you I was going to make a beach/picnic blanket with it and you said I should email you pictures. I finally got it done, so I'm sending them to you - they're attached.
The top is pieced together (I used 1930s reproduction fabrics) and quilted to the back, which is the yellow blanket. Then it was bound with bias tape, with ties added so it could be rolled up and tied.
Now I can't wait for spring so we can use it!
Tami
I absolutely love when customers send me pictures of what they have done with what they have purchased from me and to see how a little imagination and sometimes alot of work or a little work can turn it into a treasure. This is just a beautiful piece to be enjoyed for a long time.
thanks for sharing.

My woodworking space....
Posted March 26th, 2013 @ 01:03pm by: Site Admin
I never seem to get ahead of the game. I always am working to get my space tidy and perfectly in order and it is always going to happen when these things are out of the space. But there is always another thing that has to happen then another.........I am always bringing in more and more stuff because I have to produce more and more. When you are in the business of repurposing it is a never ending parade of more and more stuff. I always see potential in everything and I just can't leave it behind so it gets added to the already huge pile of stuff waiting to be transformed. There is never enough time to do all I have to do so I just do the best I can and work and work to get enough done to make the store look good. There is alot of pressure in having your own store when it is just you because it all rests on your shoulders. It is always so scarey to think you won't get it all done, but you do, and you take a breath and then the next minute you have to start getting ready for the next sale. So that means there is no time to clean my workshop because I am hauling more stuff in to get painted or changed for the next sale. I just have to do the best I can in the space the way it is.
thanks for coming.
