Change Again

Posted June 15th, 2013 @ 05:06pm by: Site Admin

I am not sure who said it, I think Aerostotle , that the only thing that is permanent is Change. I certainly know that to be true. Wow! I can't believe what our lives have been in the last years. The one thing that I know for sure is that I don't anything really for sure.

We are moving once again. This time we are moving to an old rundown apple orchard in Brooklynn Park. Jeff found it online, it was forclosed on and we went to take a look. There was only one picture of the house so we didn't know what to expect. When we pulled up it was a mess in the yard and the house was not too bad so we just kept walking around and when we got into the back yard ........... it was Magic. 2 acres of what was once beautiful. We could see it at exactly the same time. We looked at each other and smiled and held hands and walked and walked to the end of the property. We were in love with it in all of its mess we could see the glory of once was and we want to love it back to that.

At that point I didn't even care about what the house looked like I was in 100%.

When we got into the house it was in a mess too but tons of potential....I am going to take lots of pictures and share this whole thing with you.

It has been very very frustrating working to get this property but yesterday June 14th 2013 they accepted our final offer. Yeh!

WE are thrilled more than I can say and look forward to bringing this piece of land back to what it can be.

Working to finish remodel on the house

Posted May 20th, 2013 @ 11:05pm by: Site Admin

My life has been a whirlwind of changes for so long I don't know what normal is anymore. The whole purpose of all the changes is to make the best of what we have. So many people have been hurt in the whole change of our economy since the late 2000's. Jeff and I have been doing the best we can to make the best of a bad situation. People don't like talking about unpleasant things but I believe that our purpose on this earth is to help others with the experiences that we have gone thru. The one thing that I believe is you don't give up, you keep working and fighting with all that you have available to you. Life doesn't always turn out the way you think it will or the way you want it to but the most important thing is to be grateful for what you have at any given moment.

My beliefs have changed drastically in the last few years and they keep changing with all the new things that come into our lives. The one thing that stays constant is my Faith, and my love in my husband. I lean on him an awful lot and have faith that all will work out exactly as it is suppose to in the end.

When we moved last January I had hoped we would stay here forever. I should have known that would not happen. We are now finishing the remodeling to put the house on the market. When we are done I will put up some pictures. We have found a property that we really want and are in the process of bidding on it. Crossed fingers and lots of prayers in the hope we get it.

Life is always full of surprises, some good, some not so good, and the trick is to accept whatever comes along to us and make the best of it. The time we spend thinking or wishing things were different is just  a total waste of time. My goal is to learn how to live in the moment and enjoy each and every one of them. I certainly have not mastered that but like I said it is my Goal.

I spent the day painting the new bathroom in the basement, and the vanity upstairs in the bathroom and taking up tile off the kitchen floor. my back is not used to that heavy work of doing the tiles and I had to stop for now. More tomorrow. Bye for now. God Bless you!

CUSTOMER'S PROJECT

Posted March 27th, 2013 @ 01:03pm by: Site Admin

Hi - last month I bought a yellow/gold blanket from your store and I told you I was going to make a beach/picnic blanket with it and you said I should email you pictures. I finally got it done, so I'm sending them to you - they're attached.

The top is pieced together (I used 1930s reproduction fabrics) and quilted to the back, which is the yellow blanket. Then it was bound with bias tape, with ties added so it could be rolled up and tied.

Now I can't wait for spring so we can use it!

Tami

I absolutely love when customers send me pictures of what they have done with what they have purchased from me and to see how a little imagination and sometimes alot of work or a little work can turn it into a treasure. This is just a beautiful piece to be enjoyed for a long time.

thanks for sharing.
