I was driving about 5 blocks from my house and there was a great old chair sitting on the side of the road. I slammed on my brakes and went and took a smell and lifted and looked closer and decided I wanted it and couldn't leave it there. The only problem was my van was Full, as usual. I thought to myself, I can get it in far enough so I can get it back home and then drop it off and carry on to do what I needed to do in the first place.
So I backed up and shifted the stuff in the van and pushed the chair in as far as I could and went slowly back to my house. All was good until I had to turn the corner.....it fell out right in the middle of the road. 2 nice young gentlemen in a truck coming towards the chair stopped and put it in the van again, only this time there were no legs attached they had broken off but I picked them up and away I went.
I pulled it out and left it on the driveway. I knew Jeff was going to be THRILLED when he saw this in the driveway. It is really heavy and in pieces, like he needs another project like this one. He has so much already to fix before it gets out of his way.
I just couldn't leave it there. When the legs are fixed, and painted, and distressed, and reupholstered, it will be beautiful. Only 40 hours work and it will be great. Tell me again why I think it can't stay right where it was?????????
